Great Blog! This is a subject that I am researching at the moment because I am writing a paper about the growth of China in the past 30 years and naturally 'sweatshops' is a big part of that!

"I think it has to be impossible to produce such low cost goods ethically." couldnt agree more.
I wonder if it will ever become fashionable to shop for quality used clothes again?

I pretty much refuse to shop at primark, or Dunnes, or anywhere that can produce a pair of jeans for 4 pounds. Pretty much i only shop vintage or AA, i grew up in a very very hippie home (a circus for a while) and i was always taught that people are more important than possessions.

also, I know that there are some people who cannot afford to be as discriminating as me, i won't judge someone who has no other option, i just feel like if you can shop elsewhere you should.

AND their clothes are generally pretty awfully constructed, designed to be thrown away after a couple of wears to encourage you to shop more. frankly i'd rather have one good item than a hundred crappy ones.
