Wow is it Wednesday already and no new posts from me?
I have no excuse, I’ve pretty much been procrastinating.
Mostly I’ve been obsessing about finding a beautiful and unusual new dress for my birthday (which isn’t for 2 months, so, you know, urgent!) and demanding people on Twitter help me. It’s a bit of a milestone birthday, so I want the most amazing dress ever. I want to look stunning and for everyone who sees me all night to say “Wow, you look amazing!” (Vain? Moi?)
The only problem is I’m not going to suddenly get rich in the next 2 months (all donations welcome….).
So far my search has thrown up 4 dresses that are within the realms of possibility and 2 which I will continue to lust after and pray for a lottery win.

This Casimira Green Button Dress is £55 a Pret A Portabello. I’m not really sure if it’s “Wow” enough, I could see myself wearing it in the day. Also the positioning of the buttons has been mentioned to me as a potential issue by Save Our Shoes……

Also on Pret A Portabello at £69 is this Kushion Black Corsage “Carrie” Dress I absolutely adore this. It’s quite short and I’m seeing black patent platforms, a clutch bag and some killer wrist jewellery. But I don’t know if that neckline does an awful lot for me, it might make me look “matronly” with huge arms!

Going down the Vintage route, this black and gold Horrockses dress (£85 from Candy Says) looks stunning, but I’m worried about the bust sizing! I just can’t win can I?

And on this stunning Frank Usher dress for £105 I am probably starting to get out of my price range.
I met the fantastic Vivien of Holloway briefly at the IFB Dress Up! Party, and her dresses are utterly gorgeous. I was considering possibly this dark green satin halter dress but by the time I’ve bought a petticoat and accessories we’re starting to head back out of my price range again.
Of course, should I happen to win the lottery between now and May I shall be off to Net A Porter where I shall purchase both this stunning DVF Eliza Satin Dress and this Jonathon Saunders Odessa Asymmetric Dress and I shall be conducting costume changes throughout the evening.
So, which one shall I get? Or can I afford none of them and should give up and wear my boring old LBD and invest in accessories?

Love the black dress.
The last one reminds me of the one your mum wore to K’s hen night! (Sorry
)
The green one’s buttons are worrying. There’s a great blue one on Pret a Portabello, though.
Black one is fabulous- as are you and therefore I think you can carry it off. I couldn’t, sadly.
I have so many favourites on Net a Porter, I am surprised they haven’t barred me for looking so often and never “Add to cart”ing. :d
Whatever you buy you will look ah.may.zing, as always. Grrrrrrr. LOL
That was a nice dress though!
I do like the black one, I wish I could try it on! I’m thinking maybe a belt too?
Oh, yes, it was a lovely, lovely dress!
I too am thinking belt on the black. How bosomly are you these days, slinky? I can’t do high necklines due to the ole wazzoos, but smaller ladies look divine in them.
