Yay! It’s finally here, Comic Relief Red Nose Day 2009!

I love how the whole country gets behind it and joins in the spirit of the occasion. Twitter today is awash with people talking about things that are happening to raise money at their place of work including dress down days, bake sales and raffles.

Comic Relief is an amazing charity. Their vision is ‘a just world free from poverty’ wouldn’t that be a wonderful thing? They make a real and tangible difference to the lives of people in the UK and overseas. Find out aaallll about them on their website Comicrelief.com!

Tonight I shall be watching the show and tucking into red food and drink. Don’t forget to ring up and pledge money!

This afternoon I shall be off to Sainsbury to buy a couple of people red noses, I might also pick up a bottle of Wine Relief wine while I’m there. We already bought a car nose, but unbelievably someone appears to have stolen it, amazing.

I’m quite sad that all the adult size Stella McCartney T Shirts have sold out online, though you can still get them in TK Maxx, at least hopefully I can when I finally get around to going down there, but Bitch Buzz has two to give away if you tell her a joke!

I’m also wearing red tights in honour of the occasion. Comic Relief don’t make any money out of this directly, but maybe someone will see me in them and it’ll make them smile and then they’ll rush off and buy a nose.

Here’s 5 ways you can give money to Comic Relief right now, from the comfort of your computer chair, without any effort or queuing at the checkout.

  1. Just give them some money. You can donate via the comic relief website using your credit card or Paypal
  2. Buy a Red Nose. Or a whole box of red noses, or a little pin badge, or a nose for your car.
  3. Buy a Digital Red Nose. Change your profile picture on Twitter, Facebook, or anywhere else to a digital red nose for just £1.I’ve got mine
  4. filename

  5. Buy the Comic Relief single. Either the Barry Islands in the Stream EP or The Saturdays single. They’re both available for download on iTunes as well.
  6. Send someone a gift on Facebook.

Of course, if you’re completely skint or don’t have a credit card or Paypal account you can still help out RIGHT NOW. Register to receive the Money Saving Expert email and they’ve pledged to donate 50p to Comic Relief for every new user signed up before midnight on Saturday 14th March. You can also donate your Facebook status for the day to help Comic Relief spread the word to people who DO have money and credit cards!

Are you doing anything funny for money today?
