Ah, spring is springing, if not already sprung.
I see the promise of further grotty miserable weather to come, but the flowers are starting to poke through the soil and I see buds on trees and blue skies, and all this makes my heart do a little bit of a glad jumpity jump.
I’m by no means a sun worshipper, but a nice sunny day is far better than a grey drizzly one in anyone’s books surely?
All this makes me want to sling out all the blacks and burgundy’s and greys in my wardrobe and gives me an urge to prance around in floral frocks. I’m not talking tiny little ditsy florals, or even floral prints in sensible browns and earthy tones, I’m talking full on kitschy candy coloured florals. Florals that remind me of blossoms against a blue sky. I want to wear them with a cute cardigan and ridiculous shoes, and possibly a frilly pinny while I make cup cakes in my kitchen with gingham curtains.
Then I remember that my kitchen doesn’t have gingham curtains, or a window for that matter, and whilst I did make cupcakes this weekend I certainly wasn’t wearing a frilly pinny, in fact I was wearing jeans, which I covered in cake mixture. I also remember that when I step outside the door it’s actually still freezing cold, so I put my tights back on and go back to dreaming of warmer weather to come.
Here’s some bits my hunt for gorgeous bloomy spring florals has thrown up.
