As I mentioned yesterday as part of my Birthday Giveaway I was sent a PedEgg, plus one to try for myself.
I wear high heels a lot, and when I’m not wearing high heels I wear things like ballet flats which are just as bad for causing unglamorous and ugly hard skin on your feet. A friend of mine mentioned she’d purchased a PedEgg and it was great, but I was initially disinclined to spend £10 on another product promising me soft and sexy feet when I already own various different lotions and potions containing made up chemicals promising me soft tootsies and 3 different foot files, none of which have delivered on their promises.
I’ve been using the PedEgg for about 4 days now, and I’ve noticed a definite improvement.
My friend described it to me as little like a Parmesan shaver, and she’s right. Gross. But right.
It’s actually slightly less “harsh” than I expected. I was expecting actual disgusting flakes of skin, but it’s more like a fine dust that you end up with inside the “egg”. It only works properly on dry, hard skin so you run little risk of ending up skinless if you don’t pay attention!
I think you’d need to use it consistently over a period of weeks in conjunction with a foot cream in order to get beautiful soft tootsies. It’s not a one time cure all like the nibbling little fishies from Ugly Betty, but it’s considerably more practical, and whilst it’s not exactly high glamour I still think it’s less gross that having fish eat the dead skin off your feet!

The product itself looks Ok. It’s egg shaped (oddly enough!) nice and compact and all packs up inside itself with an emery file attached to the outside so it’s brilliant if you travel a lot like I do as the blades won’t get knocked and damaged.
My only real complaint is that it’s horribly over packaged for such a compact product. It’s in that awful vacuum packed plastic that is great for stores to display items, but terrible for consumers to get into and pretty hideous for the planet too as it’s not recycled or recyclable as far as I know.
If you want a PedEgg for yourself you can have a go at winning one in the Retro Chick Goodie Bag Giveaway or you can buy them in the UK from JML or US from As Seen on TV it also seems that there is a Limited Edition Pink PedEgg available which is donating $50,000 of it’s proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. You can also buy them on the high street in the UK from Boots and Asda amongst other places!

I have a love/hate thing going with As Seen On TV products. I’ll admit when I saw this on TV, I wanted it. It has a brilliant name, too
I have a ped egg and absolutely love it. I never seemed to get results with a pumice or nail file. It definately gets the job done.
