Louise Gray was my first introduction to a London Fashion Week presentation, and what an introduction.
The collection was super bright and wild, displayed on wire models by artist Tony Hornecker for the presentation and styled with eyes daubed with neon finger paint style make up and trash bag accessories.
My first thought was wow, 80s acid house, as the collection features spray painted knits and the kind of zip up corseted bustier crop tops much favoured by 80s and early 90s ravers.

I suspect I would personally be unlikely to get much wear out of the “Smiley” collection, but on closer inspection much of the rest of the collection are the kind of pieces that, worn alone, could easily add colour and texture to a more grown up wardrobe.
3 pieces in particular I could easily imagine translating into a more wearable outfit (for me at least!). This black and white devore skirt would look amazing as part of a monochrome look with heels and a body creating a smooth contrast to the textured skirt. The red strapless dress and cropped leather jacket are also both easily wearable pieces.

The corsages, acessories and customised Nicholas Kirkwood heels were the work of 80s accessories deisgner and stylist Judy Blame who created them from trash bags which I thought was amazing. I love to see gorgeous things created from the most unlikely materials.
