I know what you mean about pearls never dating. They always remind me of my grandmother. She had several pearl necklaces but I think many of them are lost or broken but I'm going to investigate to see if I can find any that survived! My mother wears pearls often and I have some tiny pearl studs that go with everything (but which I lost one of and am going to have to replace :(). I also have some cheap pearl bracelets from Pennys/Primark and Oxfam and a pale pink pearl necklace that I don't wear it as much as I should. I also have some oversized earrings as does my sister. I think pearls are making a comeback due to shows like Gossip Girl. From what I've seen pearl earrings and hairbands have become really popular in the last while. I'd keep an eye on the high street until I can afford some real ones if I were you! xx

Hey my dear...

OK, total shameless plug, but I have some drop-dead amazing costume pearls in my vintage store right now: they're from about 1960 and they've obviously been weighted just right to look and feel exactly like real pearls. They've got a lovely display case too AND they're reduced right now. Just if you're interested!!
