Retro Chick Urban Buzz Giveaway and a What are you wearing?

Urban Buzz launched it’s first collection for Autumn Winter 2007 with the aim of appealing to young women who want a wardrobe that combines excellent style and design with comfort and ethics.

I’ll admit that I hadn’t heard of it until swedish designer Annette Lennerup contacted me a couple of weeks ago suggesting a collaboration. The collections offer clean lines with cute quirky details using mostly ethical and organic materials. So right up my street!

After a quick browse round the wesbite we agreed that Annette would send me the Berlin Knit top, so I could see the quality for myself, and then we’d offer Retro Chick readers the chance to win their very own! You can’t beat updating your winter wardrobe for free, surely?

I picked my jumper up from the sorting office on Saturday morning, and I pretty much haven’t stopped wearing it since.

Jumper - Urban Buzz
Skirt & Belt - Vintage
Hairband - Topshop

The seams were nicely finished, the organic cotton rib knit felt thick and good quality and I really liked the slash neckline. Plus the tags were safety pinned on, which for some reason I really like when I buy clothes. I know, I’m a freak!

berlin

It’s a perfect addition to my wardobe actually. I belted it in and wore it over a floral skirt, and rib tights, making the florals work perfectly in the chilly weather. Today I am wearing it unbelted with jeans, and it works just as well.

I love the little thumb holes in the top, I have a tendency to pull my jumpers down over my hands anyway so it’s nice to have offical justification to wear it like that  without getting told off for stretching my clothes out, and it’s a cute and cosy detail.

So, how can you win your very own Berlin Knit Top worth £70, for absolutely nothing?

All you need to do to win your very own is follow these simple steps:

  • Visit the Urban Buzz website and register by entering your email address. As an added bonus you’ll get a voucher for 10% of your first order.
  • Come back to Retro Chick and leave a comment telling me your favourite item from the Urban Buzz collection, and how you’d wear it.

For bonus entries into the draw you can do any of the following, one bonus entry for each, and you must tell me you’ve done it in a comment for the extra entry to count.

The top is available in UK size 8-14 (that's US size 4-10) Chect out the size guide for more measurements.
The competition will be open for 2 weeks, closing at Midnight GMT on Sunday 1st November
Winners will be selected at random from all qualifying entries.

  1. I’m loving this comp and the Urban Buzz website!

I think my fav is the Paris Knit Dress! I’d wear it with opaque tights, heels and my fav scarf – I think I would look very chic in my coffee house wearing that!

I have just fallen in love with many of the items on the site but I absolutely adore the Paris Knit Dress which is equal parts chic and cute! I would dress it down with a chunky cable knit cardie and a crocheted beanie or dress it up with some unfeasibly tall teal heels and a faux fur jacket.

I’m also following both Urban Buzz and Retro Chick on FB!

But if I have to pick something else, it would have to be the Notting Hill dress – I love the colour and the print (http://www.urban-buzz.com/product/Notting_Hill_dress_UB03). I’ve a fab pair of stunning heels that would complete the outfit.

  40. It’s gotta be the greecian seagreen principles dress. it brings back so many painful memories. In 1977 I bought a designer sea green Marylin Monoe look alike dress from a designer shop reduced from £100 to £15 (I was 17 at the time. Totally stunning dress – worn once and sat in back of wardrobe – until 5 years ago when I had a big clear out and gave it to Cancer Research shop. I should have kept it ….

    loved that dress.

I follow you and Urban Buzz on twitter and am a fan of both of you on Facebook as well. Oh, and I tweeted! I want that jumper, it looks so cozy and I love the colour! Your styling sold me on it.

I love the ‘battersea blouse’ because it’s really classic and feminine (but lets face it, all the clothes are amazing!) I would team it with some black skinny jeans, brogues and various different antique gold coloured chains to make it vintagey but with an edge.
