My First Video Blog – A Romantic Make Up Tutorial

I’ve been threatening video blogs on twitter and facebook for a couple of weeks now since I figured out how to work the video function on my camera.

Well here is my first attempt. I’ve got 3 make up tutorials planned for this week, kind of in honour of Valentines Day. This first one is a fresh romantic look using pinks and purples. Think flushed cheeks, sparkling eyes and shiny lips. Like you’ve just been chasing each other playfully through a field before falling over, arms entwined and doing that “nearly kissing” staring into each others eyes things that happens in movies.

The sound isn’t that great I’m afraid as I don’t have an external microphone, maybe I’ll work on that in future if you want to see more tutorials? I did get to spend a very enjoyable afternoon playing with Windows Movie Maker trying to create the silent movie feel, a program I didn’t even know I had on my computer, oh dear.

I’d like to know what you think so I can improve future videos! If you like it and you’d like to get updates when I upload new videos you can subscribe to my YouTube channel

So, without further ado.

Gorgeous Gemma, I loved the music firstly really cheered me up on a cold day.
I love that you apply your eyeshadow with your fingers, i do the same, i find its more natural and easier to apply without powder dropping on my face.

I would love a tutrial on applying the base soon, really interested in knowing how to acheive a natural look with the minerals.

Brilliant thanks

Ah, good! I was so nervous about uploading it! I love that music too :D

The only time I use a brush for eyeshadow is if I’m doing contouring, like with a smoky eyes look (come back Friday!)

I’ll try and do a base one in the next few weeks then, don’t want to over do it with the videos! Though I do like playing with movie maker…..

yes the music is perfect!
I like this new feature, I have vowed to myself to ‘do’ my make-up more often and experiement with different looks, so these videos will be the perfect way to start.
Thanks

Ooh, I’ll have to try that blusher – been looking for a new one to try, and it’s awfully pretty.

Great tutorial. I too use my fingers for most things, although I did just buy a brush for socket shading (because I quite like the ‘perfect’ look sometimes).
