Double Denim – The Classy Way

in How To Wear...,Inspiration,Trends

You may have noticed that “Double Denim” is a massive look for Summer.

No? Where have you BEEN?

It seems the entire world is teaming denim jackets and shirts with jeans and denim shorts. It’s a look I kind of like on some people, but I don’t think it’s *me*. I tend to look a little smarter, a bit more feminine. I rarely wear jeans, but I love to play around with a trend, so, I wondered:

Is there another way to do double denim?

Denim is a versatile material. It’s hard wearing and can be made into everything from shirts to shoes (and bags! Make sure you enter my giveaway!) It’s thick enough to give a really good structure to dresses and jackets.

So the way I want to do double denim is in a chic shift and a smart jacket. Strip away the western styling and add a bit of structure, some zips or a military touch and denim is the perfect material to dress down a super smart suit. I already have a French Connection denim blazer at home that I’ll drag out (if it still fits) but that perfect denim dress that fits might need more research.

While I hunt, I’ve been and picked out some chic double denim outfits to suit all budgets.

I love Melissa shoes, too, but can’t afford the heels. I did find a pair of flats for $50 (US). I’ve been debating whether or not to order them.

You have taken double denim up a notch. I never thought it could work.

Never has denim gone out of style. But it bears noting its timelessness, still. So thanks.
