Being based in Norfolk I frequently highlight exciting and interesting events in this part of the country.
And, of course, there’s my Norfolk events page to keep you up to date with upcoming events with a spin on the vintage, retro or downright bizarre.
But sometimes really cool things come up in other parts of the country that I think you might want to know about. I’ve highlighted the Chap Olympiad and Vintage at Goodwood. But on a smaller scale, if you’re London based and short of things to do next Wednesday 11th August then you should head over to Hyde Park to get yourself some culture, Victorian style.
Love Art London is holding a Victorian Sculpture walking tour where their expert story tellers will walk you round Hyde Park and tell you all about some hidden sculptural gems by George Frampton, George Frederick Watts and Simon Gudgeon as well as checking out some show-stoppers like The Victoria and Albert Memorial and The Wellington Monument.

What I particularly love, though, is that they’re encouraging people to don their Victorian attire for the walk and in return you’ll get a discounted ticket price of £10. I just love the idea of wandering round Hyde Park with a parasol and some rustly skirts, escorted by a handsome gentleman in a cravat while someone tells me interesting things about beautiful sculpture that I can then bore everyone else with next time I’m in Hyde Park.
Sadly, I won’t be able to make this one, but if you can, you should. Hopefully I’ll be in the area for the next one!

ahhh I miss London for random fun happenings like this…what the heck, I miss the entire UK
What fun! I don’t have any plans for Wednesday – perhaps I can rustle up a pseudo-Victorian outfit and trundle up to the big smoke!
