What Are You Wearing? Green Lady

in Outfits

On Saturday night I attended a long anticipated Rotary Club Ball.

My Dad is President of his club this year and therefore this was an event where family were required to turn up and show support, plus use it as an excuse to spend lots of money on dresses.

Which I certainly did. I treated myself to a M’Lady dress from Able Grable in dark green satin. I felt a little sick about spending that much money on a dress, but it was custom made to my measurements, fit like a dream and made me feel like a Princess, so was worth every single tiny penny.

❤ Fascinator - Abilu Creations ❤ Jewellery & Belt - Can't remember! ❤
❤ Dress - Able Grable ❤ Bag - Vintage ❤
❤ Shoes - LK Bennett via eBay ❤

I teamed it with 30s style waves and a peacock feather hair comb from Abilu Creations, deco style jewellery, a vintage plisse handbag, fishnets and black satin LK Bennett shoes constituted the rest of the outfit.

I went for a dark shimmery green eyeshadow, instead of my normal black eyeliner as well, and I was really pleased with how my waves came out. They’re not actually finger waves, more a cheats version and are actually really easy to acheive. I’ll do a tutorial if I ever find the time!

The evening was a great success and dinner was delicious, even though someone can’t spell mousse.

My Able Grable got itself many compliments, as well as an excuse to swish around and generally act like a Princess. The venue was Oakwood House, near Maidstone in Kent. It’s a popular wedding venue and I can see why as it provides a wonderful backdrop for photographs, even if the staff at breakfast were a little rubbish. No, sorry, a LOT rubbish (no I won’t clear that table, there’s still some clean places set over there. You’ll have to fit in where you can)

So of course, the women in my family took the opportunity handed to them and pranced around posing…..

I hope you all had a fabulous 4 day weekend over Easter, and only 3 days back at work, woo hoo!

That’s one AMAZING dress. LOVE IT. The colour is superb and you can tell straight away it’s a ‘cut above’ the rest (sorry, appalling pun). Honestly, I can’t stop raving about it- amazing dress.

I especially like the way it looks dainty whilst covering the shoulders. I don’t like ‘open top frocks’ but find it hard to find anything so light, swooshy and indeed sexy with little sleeves on the high street. You have tempted me sorely to save up for my own made-to-measure!

It looks like you had a wonderful time at the ball, too. :)

You look simply stunning. I love the colour on you and the cut is wonderful. The peacock hair accessory looks lovely too. Can’t believe they served mouse – doesn’t say much for the state of the kitchens. ;-)

Having a dress custom made is absolutely worth every penny– there’s nothing like it and it shows in how well that dress fits. It looks like a dream. Stunning! Looks like you had a lot of fun, too. I love events like these. (That is a very unfortunate misprint on the menu :P )
